Antico Monastero, your home in Anacapri

At the bed and breakfast Antico Monastero in Anacapri we will host you in two suites and one economy room. All the three rooms, left intact by our dear grandparents Paolina and Attilio, has been lovingly restored in full respect of the old and retains the typical Capri style of the seventeenth century; large, bright and completely independent, they are furnished with that love and attention to detail usually reserved only for your home. The rooms do not lack those characteristics that you can expect in a historic building of the seventeenth-century, like low vaulted ceilings, small windows, stairs (no elevator), but there are also modern comforts such as air conditioning or fan, color TV and en suite bathroom. Starting from the morning with a tasty breakfast, we will be happy to make come true your dream of a stay in the Island of Capri, making you feel at home.

Suite Il Coretto

The suite "Il Coretto" takes its name from its original function; it was here that the nuns of the monastery of Anacapri gathered to accompany with chants the religious services in the adjacent church of San Michele. Incorporated in the church, in the corner of the bedroom there is still the door to the organ, and the built-in wardrobes long ago overlooked right down to the church, where you can still see the grates that there were affixed. The suite can accommodate up to 3 people and is equipped with:

Suite Il Chiostro

Under one of the arches of the cloister, we have implemented this suite which takes its name after it. Its vaulted ceiling once gave shelter and coolness to the religious during their meditations, and today is a quiet room with a balcony overlooking an inner courtyard. During the restoration works we have brought to light the original nineteenth-century decorations, which with their soft colors contribute to give the room a unique atmosphere. The suite Il Chiostro can accommodate up to 3 people and is equipped with:

Economy room Lo Studio della badessa

Lo Studio della badessa is the economy room of our Bed and Breakfast, and it is our only room to have a private but external bathroom: the bathroom is private, but can be reached by a staircase in common with the other guests. With its characteristic Baroque shaped window and the barrel vault decorated with rustic coffered stucco, this was the place where the mother superior kept the documents and the secrets of the monastery. Equipped with a double bed and a single bed, it can accommodate up to 3 people and it is our cheapest room, but it does not miss the main comfort of our suites, as it is equipped with:

private but external bathroom with shower, hairdryer, supply towels and complimentary toiletries, air conditioning / heating, TV color, safe deposit box, minibar and tea kettle.
